Trials and glory... In John 11:17-27 Martha goes out to meet Jesus in the midst of her grief over the death of her brother, Lazarus. In spite of her intense sorrow, her faith in Him remains strong. In verse 22 she states, "...even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you." And she believes that even if Jesus chooses not to restore Lazarus now, he will still rise again "on the last day" (verse 25).
But Jesus responds, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (verses 25-26)

Trials and Glory... In John 11:8 the disciples are shocked that Jesus would want to go back to Judea, the place where crowds had just attempted to stone Him. They also fear for themselves and their safety. He reminds them that they are able to see and therefore walk forward because of the Light (Jesus).
